(Sanford, FL) Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) is pleased to announce that it has once again earned an “A”-rating as a district for the 2022-2023 school year as reported in the December 11, 2023, Florida Department of Education Informational School Grades release. In addition, SCPS is ranked #1 when compared to Central Florida Districts, second when compared to the 14 largest districts in Florida, and 11th out of all Florida’s 67 Districts.

SCPS continues to be an academically high-performing district and we are very proud of our student’s achievements. However, we recognize that school grades are just one component of determining school achievement. High performing schools and districts need the collaborative commitment and work of students, educators, families and community members to realize the potential of each student. Combining that work with a pledge to continuously improve and innovate is the foundation of SCPS’ commitment to all of our stakeholders.

Informational School Grades have been provided for the Spring 2023 assessment results because of the change in the accountability system from the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA) to the Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T.). The Spring 2023 grades include achievement components, a middle school acceleration component, graduation rate, and college and career acceleration. Learning gains were not calculated for the Spring 2023 assessment because only one year of the F.A.S.T. assessment results are available.
