SCPS Climbs to Number Two in Florida, Remains Number One in Central Florida
SANFORD, Fla. Seminole County Public Schools (SCPS) has been named the second-best public school district in Florida by Niche, moving up from number three last year while once again earning the distinction as the number one school district in Central Florida.
“This recognition belongs to our entire SCPS community,” said Superintendent Serita D. Beamon. “Our teachers, staff, school leaders, students, families, and community partners work together every day to create outstanding opportunities for our students. Moving up to number two in Florida is a tremendous accomplishment and reinforces what we already know: Seminole County is home to some of the very best public schools in the state.”
Niche rankings evaluate districts using factors including academics, teachers, college preparation, clubs and activities, health and safety, administration, diversity, resources and facilities, and feedback from students and families.
SCPS continues to distinguish itself through strong academic achievement and a wide range of opportunities, including advanced academics, International Baccalaureate, dual enrollment and career and technical education programs in areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, aviation, health sciences, culinary arts, construction and agriculture, along with outstanding fine arts and athletics.
“Rankings like this are meaningful because they reflect the collective work happening in our classrooms and schools every single day,” Beamon said. “We remain focused on what matters most, continuing to raise the bar and ensuring every student has access to the people, programs and opportunities they need to thrive.”
