Title I Parents' Right to Know
Please Join the SCPS Title I Advisory Team
If you are parenting* a child who attends a Title I school and are willing to share your insights into how parents can work in partnership with teachers to better support their child’s academic achievement, the SCPS Title I department welcomes your application to serve as a member of a Title I advisory team. The team will recommend the types of information or resources that parents need to be actively engaged in their child’s education, and will guide the development of district Title I parent and family engagement plans. Team meetings will be held in March, May and October of 2024 and February and April of 2025 at sites and times determined to be most convenient for team members.
SCPS has a very diverse student population, including many racial and cultural backgrounds, various levels of income and housing situations, a wide range of fluency in one or more languages, students who struggle academically, students who excel, and students who benefit from Individual Education Plans or participate in special programs. Parents who represent the diversity in our student population are encouraged to apply. Your input will help determine how schools could best use Title I funds to increase student achievement.
*Parent/child relationships include a variety of adults who take responsibility for raising a child, including birth parents, adoptive parents, grandparents, stepparents, foster parents, and legal guardians.
To volunteer to be a member of the Title I Advisory Team, please complete the Parent Application for Title I Advisory Team.
Please Note:
No more than three representatives from each school will be selected.
