There are different types of instructional materials used within SCPS. Textbooks used in core classes, such as English, Math, Social Studies, and Science are considered core instructional materials. For more information on core instructional materials, please visit our Instructional Materials District Adoption site.
In addition to core instructional materials, schools support curriculum utilizing library, classroom library, supplementary resources, videos, and other educational resources. This page provides directions should you want to object to other materials made available in classrooms, a school library, or included on a reading list.
Objection to Instructional and/or Media Material Form
If your objection is not resolved by the school principal, please complete SCPS Specific Material Objection Form and provide any additional evidence to support your objection. Return the completed form to the school principal.

The objection form must be signed by the parent or resident, include the required contact information, and state the objection to the instructional materials based on the criteria set forth in F.S. 1006.31(2) or 1006.40(3)(d).
